James 'Jim' A. Fiorucci
James "Jim" A. Fiorucci, age 54, of Claypool, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, unexpectedly at home. He was born on Dec. 14, 1966, to James L. and Francis Hutchcroft Fiorucci in Plymouth. On July 23, 1992, Jim mar ried Dena Lehman. She survives. Jim worked for many years as a prop erty manager in Warsaw with his wife Dena. He enjoyed buying and selling firearms, working and being on the farm and taking care of animals, especially his three German Shepherds. Jim was a huge Colts fan and won several awards showing his 2003 Wide Glide 100 Anniversary Harley Davidson. Nothing was more important to him than his fam ily and he especially loved being Popop to his granddaughter Zoey. Jim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dena; two children: Philip Fiorucci, of Claypool; Shayna (Thad) Dewitt, of Warsaw; and one granddaughter, Zoey Dewitt. Also surviv ing are his stepfather and mother, Skip and Fran Davidson, of Plymouth; two sisters: Laurie (Joe) Glaub, of Plymouth; Teressa (Julian) Alvis, of Colorado; five brothers: Mike (Rita) Quinby, of Plymouth; Kevin (Pat) Nuenemaker, of Plymouth; Skippy (Kathy) Davidson; of Plymouth; Joe Fiorucci, of Alaska; and William Fiorucci; father and mother in law, Sam and Vonda Lehman, of Pierceton; and brother and sister in law, Doug and April Lehman, also of Pierceton. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9 at Pathway Church, 2402 W. Old 30, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Pastor Jarod Osborne is officiat ing. Shirley A. Whitehurst
Shirley A. Whitehurst, 88, of Warsaw, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw. She was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Bourbon, to Daro and Ignota Hahn. Shirley is survived by her loving son, Darrin Whitehurst; grandchildren, Chelsea and Casey Whitehurst, great grandson, Conall; sister in law, Carol Hahn; and nieces: Kimberly Sharpe and Kelli Hahn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hahn, and her parents. Shirley graduated from Bourbon High School. She started working at the Bourbon Bank and worked there for several years. She had a burning desire to travel. Shirley and a girl friend decided to venture to Arizona. Shirley worked there in the banking industry and met her future husband, Johnny. They moved to Jacksonville, Fla., where her son Darrin was born. Shirley moved back to Bourbon and raised Darrin as a single mom. Shirley was always hardworking and was a Motor Club Insurance agent for many years. The light of her life and her greatest joy was her son Darrin, her grandchildren and great grandson. She beamed every time their names were mentioned. She was a loving aunt to her nieces. Shirley never missed sending cards for birthdays. Shirley grew up going to the Jerusalem Church in Bourbon and was the song leader for many years. In 2007, she was re baptized at Hidden Lake during a baptism with Warsaw Community Church with her niece Kimberly and her husband Dallas. Shirley is now with the Lord and no longer in pain and suffering. See you in heaven and I love you more. She will be laid to rest in Bourbon. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. Sarah 'Wynell' Thompson
Sarah "Wynell" Thompson, 86, of Warsaw, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2021, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. Born on Feb. 21, 1935, in Cullman, Ala., Wynell was the daughter of Dewey and Ottie Walker Kelsoe. She was united in marriage to Floyd Eugene Thompson on Sept. 26, 1951, who preceded her in passing Sept. 26, 2014. She grew up and graduated from high school in Alabama prior to moving to Indiana. She was formerly employed with K Mart, retiring in 2000 with over 15 years of service. Wynell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed being a homemaker for her children and grandchil dren. Wynell is survived by three children: Rick and (Shelia) Thompson, Warsaw; Vickie and (Danny) Adkins, Alabama; Terry and (Deb) Thompson, Chapman Lake; 10 grandchil dren: Mary, Chris, Matt, Sarah, Joe, John, Jill, Jamie, Jennifer, Andrea; and 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Floyd Thompson. All services are private at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Pastor Rod Valentine will officiate the serv ices. Ralph Legate
Ralph Legate, 95, of Warsaw, passed away on Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw. Born on March 30, 1926, in Lonoke, Ark., Ralph was the son of Andrew and Ola Belle Finnley Legate. He was united in marriage to Martha Liles on Nov. 28, 1947, in Little Rock, Ark. She preced ed him in passing Oct. 28, 2015. Ralph proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He and Martha moved to Southern California in 1951 and then returned to Arkansas in 1988. They relo cated to Warsaw in 2015. Ralph is survived by two daughters: Barbara (Jerry) Hatfield, Warsaw; and Louise (Harold) Hallikainen, Tucson, Ariz.; two grandsons: David Newcomb and Andrew (Elizabeth) Newcomb, both of Colorado; and one great grandson, Kubrick Newcomb, of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Hogue; son, John Legate; and his grandson, Zachory Hogue; three sisters and two brothers. There will be a burial in Vilonia Cemetery, Vilonia, Ark. at a later date. Warsaw's Thursday Trash Routes Moved To Friday
Thursday trash routes in the city of Warsaw will be picked up on Friday, Nov. 12 due to the Veterans Day holiday. City offices will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 11. Residents subscribed to receive trash route alerts by email or text will receive a notification about Thursday's route change, regardless of their trash day, according to a news release from the city. Voice calls will not be completed this time. The city of Warsaw is switching to a new system after an unexpected loss of function ality with its current service provider. After the new system is installed, residents will return to only receiving alerts for their trash day, as well as receiving voice calls, if sub scribed to receive voice calls.
Orchestra Cabaret Nov. 13
What do the songs "Phantom of the Opera," "Canon in D," "Memory" and "Colors of the Wind" all have in common? The public can hear these songs, and more, performed at the Orchestra Cabaret at 7 p.m. Nov. 13. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office at 574 371 5040. The ticket price includes a dessert and beverage. The proceeds will help our students attend a professional recording studio workshop that takes place in Disney World this spring. On Nov.13, orchestra students will be per forming a variety of popular music including classical, Broadway and movie songs. Come to the Cabaret at the Warsaw Community High School Black Box Theater located in the Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the cabaret starts at 7 p.m.
